Title:
"Victory Red" Lipstick & Other Makeup of the 1940s
Description:
Spend your evening at Creek Bend Farm learning about makeup trends in the 1940s. Makeup was considered important for boosting morale during WWII and was exempt from many of the rationing regulations. Colors like "Victory Red" were developed specifically for the Marine Corps Women's Reserve to match their uniforms, and women were encouraged to send letters with lipstick to boost the morale of soldiers. You will be mixing and taking home samples of rouge (blush) and lipstick, which were both staples of the time. For ages 12 and up. Registration is required.
