Sensory Play Saturday - Kayaking

Attention parents of toddlers: have you ever wanted to do sensory play activities with your child, but it looked like too much prep time or too big of a mess? You are in luck!
We will be hosting sensory play days at Creek Bend Farm the first Saturday of each month. The August program will be Kayaking themed and have opportunities for your child to explore Muddy Creek! Your child will also be making a craft and a small snack will be provided.
Registration is required, and please register only the child.

Stream Splashing

Get outside for a creek walk with your youngsters and search for critters that live under the water. Bring a small net if you have one. Rain boots or old tennis shoes required. No sandals or slip-on shoes. Registration is required.

Bug Bonanza

Let's explore a prairie habitat searching for insects. Prairie habitats support a wide variety of insects and plants. Learn how to identify some of these plants and insects as well as their adaptations. Be prepared for walking on uneven trails. Registration is required.

Spilling the Tea

Spilling the Tea is held on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Enjoy an afternoon tea in the Homestead House learning about life in the 1950s. Each month will focus on a different tea and a new year. Read diary entries, search through old photographs and letters to get a glimpse of our past. August will focus on 1956. Registration is required.

Potpourri Pouches

If you enjoy mini decorations for your home or office, this program is for you! Make your own hanging purse or pouch with scrap fabric, fill with your choice of potpourri and take home to decorate your space. Registration required, $6 fee. All supplies will be provided. Beginner sewing or embroidery skill is needed. For ages 11 and older.

Hexagon Wreaths

If you enjoy mini decorations for your home or office, this program is for you! Make your own hexagon wreath with scrap fabric for your favorite holiday or to show your team spirit. Registration required, $6 fee. All supplies will be provided. Beginner sewing or embroidery skill is needed. For ages 11 and older.
